When my husband and I contemplated selling our home, we found ourselves asking a lot of questions. “Will our home sell quickly?”, “Will we be able to get our asking price”, What’s the best time to put our home on the market” and the list went on from there. Fortunately for us, we had a very good friend, Emily Ellis, who also happened to be one of the most successful real estate sales agents in our area. However, that also posed another question: “Should we mix business and friendship?” In the end we decided that regardless of our friendship we needed to list with someone we knew would get our house sold quickly. Several months ago my husband and I began a new adventure as I relocated to Bangor for a new job while he remained behind to continue working with his employer while the 2 homes we owned in northern Maine sold. Being that these properties were located in a rural community situated on the Canadian border, and given that home sales are chronically stagnate in that area, we were of the opinion that it would be many, many months before these homes sold.

Our plan worked relatively well for 6 weeks until it became apparent that these homes would be sold within 90 days of my arrival to Bangor! With our estimated transition timeline quickly dissolving, it became quite apparent that we needed to find a home in an area we neither of us was all that familiar with. Added to this mix was the realization that my husband and I had varying degrees expectations in terms of size, age, and style of our next home!

It was at that point that I had the fortune to meet Renee Hudgens, of Realty of Maine and advised my husband that we consider her as our realtor. What impressed both of us most was the energy, commitment, and perhaps most importantly, knowledge that she brought to us with in helping to locate our next home.

The search began! With my husband only being available on weekends, we believed the search would be intense. Renee knew otherwise. She scouted listings on our behalf and would email possibilities to me in Bangor and my husband up north. He and I would then determine which of those to visit and Renee would take care of the rest, even when it meant an occasional Sunday morning away from her family. She consistently met us at each listing fully prepared to answer our questions and provide advice when asked.

Within a matter of mere weeks we located the home, and with very little knowledge of the process and stages of buying a home, Renee led the way, guiding us through every step. She advocated very effectively on our behalf, helping us to land the house that is now our home.

From our first meeting, through to the closing, Renee became an important member of our team. We came to trust her advice and very much appreciated her “can do” attitude.
